catching up... blah blah blah

So I was going to catch everyone up on the recent happenings with the Heffner family, but instead, I've decided to tell the story of how Jett learned to fly this morning... (hopefully I can catch it on video next time).

Setting takes place in my office.

Picture Jett sitting on the 2nd office chair, and Dakota slowly making him go round and round....

Me: Be careful dakota, he's still a baby

Dakota: okay mom, Im doing it really slow

Jett: wweeeeee

Me: Dakota stop going faster

Dakota: Dont worry mom he likes it

Jett: wwweeeeeeeeeeeeee

Me: Dakota I'm warning you, slow DOWN!

Dakota: No mom look he's smiling! (in the meantime she really really gives him a good spin)

Jett: ahhhh... (yes, Jett actually Flew out of the chair, with arms in the air and landed on his stomach right outside the office door).

Me:   "I told you , that was too fast"

Dakota: "I didnt mean to mom, he was saying wweeee"

Jett: (climbs right back into the chair and shakes his arms as if to say "Again" )

I look at dakota and say "dont even think about it", as she turns and walks out the door.


Yes, this is how my mornings go, while trying to get some work done. I love it!

Project 365 week 1

So I am testing this out using my phone.. So this post may disappear if I don't like the way it turns out lol.

This is my 2nd year attempting Project 365. I got to week 50 something last year bit never got around to blogging it. So with this new "facebook" app and iPhone... It's making taking daily photos, posting them and even blogging.. So much easier an quicker.

And that brings me to My first week of 2011!

Day 1: 1/1/11 the girls love laying the floor and watching tv/ movies on our "big screen" as they call the wall that we shine our projector onto.

Day 2: 1/2/11 Jett is getting about 4 teeth coming in all at once on the top and so Aaron kept satin "cheese" to get Jett to smile.

Day 3: 1/3/11 yes this is cough medicine... I've had a horrible cough for two weeks and this and NyQuil are my best friends at bed time!

Day 4: 1/4/11 the kids were playing so good together in their playroom (under the stairs closet) grandma calls it "the Heffner dungeon"

Day 5: Dakota can make Jett smile like no one else.. He loves playing with her!

Day 6: 1/6/11. They Love watching movies and playing games on the iPad

Day 7: 1/7/11. Kaylie was running in the living room and tripped and hit her head on the coffee table.. Yup the cut went all the way through to bone.. 5 large stitches later and a good dose of meds and we got this smiling 4 year old.

I'm Running Away To The Circus!!

We were hanging out with Mark and Deb yesterday and Deb reminded us that the Circus was at The Stockton Arena... well Aaron and I had never been and the girls were so excited when we asked if they wanted to go, we hopped online and bought the tickets.. $10 per child under 12 and only $17 for adults! We couldnt beat that price, so we went! It was so much fun and really if you've never been to the circus, you have to go at least once.. Aaron and I were totally impressed! The Elephants, the Tigers, the people acts, 7 motorcycles in a metal ball (this was Aarons favorite), the flying trapeze acts, the tightrope walkers, all of it.. totally amazing :) we had really good seats too! Where we were, you were able to see the entire event!  Check out the pics:

2 new members of the Heffner Family!

So, Aaron and I thought it would be fun to take a trip to the Reptile Show in Sacramento... yeah I am so not a fan of Snakes and Lizards and Bugs, however I wasnt really expecting turtles or tortoises... of course the babies were just so darn cute we told the girls we'd think about getting a turtle. After  1 1/2 hours of walking around we went back to the turtle guy and decided we'd pick up a turtle.  Little did we know, we'd be purchasing 2. Also the guy failed to tell us that we had just purchased Sulcata Tortoises, who are the 3 largest tortoises in the world and can get up to 200+ lbs. Also, the live anywhere from 70 to 120+ years!  Here are some photos of the kids at the show, and of course our new little babies! (they are the same age as Jett, born only a week apart!)

Jett Crawling!!

So our little guy is crawling... however it is backwards. Jett will crawl on his knees going backwards only, but will semi-army crawl when he goes forwards.. here is a little video of him doing his army-crawl:

Our Little Drama Queen Turned 4!

Happy Birthday Kaylie!

Yup that's right Kaylie (Kiki) Marie Heffner is now 4 years old! I can't believe how fast time goes by!! It was just 4 years ago I was changing your little preemie diapers and comparing you to the size of our remote control. And here we are today with an extra tall 4 year old girly girl. We are so blessed to have such an amazing little girl. Yes you are our drama queen but you are Momma's sweethear and Daddy's Princess. You are our little luv bug. You tell us 100 million times a day how much you loves us and are constantly giving us hugs and kisses. You may be high maintenance, and the most dramatic of the 3 kiddos, but we love you to death. Happy Birthday baby girl!

Back To School: Dakota Style!

So I am a little late posting these pictures, but here are the pictures we snagged of Dakota's 1st day of Kindergarten. She is having so much fun! She gets to bring a book home everyday to read, she is a pro at writing her name, and is even learning to write her last name. She is super excited and we are so proud of her!
